# RoleForge > Last updated: 2026-05-14 ## What is RoleForge? RoleForge is a web-based AI Game Master platform for solo and multiplayer RPG play. Two fantasy rulesets are live today — d20 Fantasy and Old School Fantasy — with Sci-Fi, Horror, and more genres on the roadmap. Real dice mechanics ensure the AI narrates outcomes but does not determine them. The platform features persistent "living worlds" that remember player choices, NPC relationships, and consequences across sessions. Think of it as the persistence of an MMO with the deep role-playing of a tabletop RPG — powered by an AI Game Master so you can play anytime. ## Current Status RoleForge is in alpha. Solo play is available now with multi-character parties and AI mercenaries. Hand-drawn maps with fog of war, tactical grid combat, and token movement are core features available to all tiers. Co-op multiplayer, illustrated chronicles, and other features are on the roadmap. RoleForge works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers, with native iOS and Android apps planned. The product is being actively tested and updated in 2026 with regular changelog entries on the public roadmap. ## Key Features - AI Game Master: Intelligent narration for solo and multiplayer RPG play - Real Dice Mechanics: Rules determine outcomes, AI describes them - Living Worlds: Persistent worlds that remember player choices across sessions - Hand-Drawn Maps: Fog of war, darkvision, tactical grid combat, token movement - Multiple Rulesets: d20 Fantasy and Old School Fantasy live; Sci-Fi, Horror, and more coming - Solo and Multiplayer: Solo play with multi-character parties and AI mercenaries; co-op multiplayer coming - Character Progression: Create characters, earn XP, level up - NPC Memory: NPCs remember relationships, reputation, and past encounters - Cross-Device: Works on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers ## Pricing Free during alpha. Unlike freeform AI storytelling tools (AI Dungeon, NovelAI), outcomes are decided by dice and rules, not by the AI. Unlike platforms that require a human GM, RoleForge provides an AI Game Master so you can play anytime. The platform features persistent living worlds with full NPC memory and consequence tracking — the kind of world persistence MMO players love, with the deep role-playing freedom of a tabletop RPG. Built for the ~$2.15B global TTRPG market and the growing solo RPG audience that current AI tools underserve. ## Blog The RoleForge blog covers solo RPG play, AI Game Masters, and the future of tabletop gaming.
