Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using RoleForge, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement.

2. Use License

Permission is granted to use RoleForge for personal use. You may create and manage characters, game sessions, worlds/campaigns, and other content for role-playing games.

3. Accounts, Eligibility, and Security

To use certain features of the Service, you will need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify us promptly.

If you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian must consent to and supervise your use of the Service (see Section 10).

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and No Refunds

Some parts of the Service may require a paid subscription. Payments may be processed by Stripe or another payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to pay the fees and applicable taxes as described at the time of purchase.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the then-current billing period.

No refunds. To the maximum extent permitted by law, all fees are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for any partial subscription periods, unused time, or unused features.

We may change subscription pricing or plans from time to time. If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice where required.

5. Acceptable Use and Security

You agree not to misuse the Service. You may not (and may not attempt to) access the Service in an unauthorized manner or interfere with the normal operation, security, or integrity of the Service.

Without limiting the foregoing, you may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code, underlying models, systems, or components of the Service (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law); (b) bypass, disable, or defeat any access controls, rate limits, or security measures; (c) probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; (d) introduce malware or harmful code; (e) perform prompt injection or other input-based attacks intended to cause the Service to reveal confidential information, bypass safeguards, or behave in an unauthorized way; or (f) use automated means to scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service except as explicitly permitted by us.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated this section or if your use poses a risk to RoleForge, our users, or third parties.

6. Third-Party Content and Licenses

RoleForge may include or reference third-party content such as RPG rules, reference documents, text, and other materials that are owned by their respective publishers and made available under various open or public licenses.

RoleForge also uses third-party software and other materials that may be provided under their own licenses and notices.

For the applicable notices and license information, please review our Attributions page. The notices and licenses on the Attributions page are incorporated into these Terms by reference, and you agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms.

7. User Content

You may submit, create, upload, or otherwise make available content through RoleForge, including custom characters, homebrew content, campaign notes, text, and other materials ("User Content").

As between you and RoleForge, you retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting or creating User Content through the Service, you grant RoleForge a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, publish, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use your User Content for any purpose related to the Service and RoleForge's business, including operating, improving, marketing, and monetizing the Service.

This license includes the right for RoleForge to use your User Content in commercial offerings, and to generate revenue from it (including by offering, reselling, or licensing content or experiences that incorporate or are derived from User Content), to the maximum extent permitted by law. You understand that other users may be able to view, interact with, or build upon User Content depending on the features you use.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the license above and that your User Content does not violate any law or infringe any third-party rights.

Public sharing. If you choose to publish or share User Content publicly, you understand that it may be viewed, used, and shared by others. You are responsible for what you choose to make public, including ensuring you have the necessary rights and that you do not disclose personal or sensitive information.

8. Content Standards (No Vulgar or Sexual Content)

RoleForge is intended for role-playing gameplay and worldbuilding. You may not use the Service to create, request, upload, store, or share content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, or primarily intended to depict sexual acts or sexualized content. We may use automated and/or human review to detect and enforce violations of this section, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section without notice.

You also may not use the Service for vulgar, obscene, or highly offensive content, including content that is harassing, hateful, exploitative, or that we determine (in our reasonable discretion) is not appropriate for the RoleForge community.

You may not use the Service to create, request, upload, store, or share content that is illegal, that infringes the rights of others, that includes personal data about someone without their permission, or that is intended to harass, threaten, or exploit any person.

We may remove content and/or suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

Illegal activity. We do not tolerate illegal use of the Service. We may investigate suspected violations and may report unlawful activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful requests, as permitted by applicable law. Where we determine reporting is appropriate, we may do so without notice to you.

9. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, you may contact us at support@roleforge.ai with sufficient information for us to review and respond.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and may terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.

10. Minors; Parental Responsibility; Indemnity

RoleForge may be used by minors only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf and will supervise your use of the Service.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and you permit a minor to use the Service, you agree that (a) you are responsible for the minor's activity, (b) you will supervise the minor's use of the Service, and (c) you accept these Terms on the minor's behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that the minor's use of the Service complies with applicable laws and these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RoleForge and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) a minor's use of the Service through your account or with your permission, (b) your failure to supervise a minor's use of the Service, or (c) any misrepresentation about age or legal capacity in connection with use of the Service.

11. AI-Generated Content

RoleForge may generate content using artificial intelligence and other automated systems (including story text, descriptions, rules interpretations, images, or other outputs). AI-generated content is provided for entertainment and creative support only.

No accuracy or reliability guarantee. AI-generated content may be incomplete, incorrect, misleading, offensive, or not appropriate for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any outputs before relying on them. RoleForge does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.

No uniqueness or non-infringement guarantee. AI-generated content may be similar to content created by others and may implicate third-party rights. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any content (including User Content and AI-generated content) complies with applicable law and does not infringe the rights of others.

You may not use the Service or AI-generated content to violate these Terms, to generate illegal content, or to attempt to bypass our safeguards.

12. Suspension, Termination, and Account Closure

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for RoleForge, our users, or third parties, or if we are required to do so by law.

You may request to close your account by contacting support@roleforge.ai. We may require verification of your request. Closing an account may result in the loss of access to User Content and other data, and we are not responsible for any such loss.

If your account is suspended or closed, your subscription (if any) may be cancelled. Fees remain non-refundable as described in Section 4.

License survival. Termination or account closure does not affect the licenses you grant to RoleForge under these Terms, which survive to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Dispute Resolution; Binding Arbitration; Class Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. It affects your legal rights. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you and RoleForge agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court.

No class actions. You and RoleForge agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, representative, or private attorney general action. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a representative proceeding.

Arbitration procedure. The arbitration will be administered by a reputable arbitration provider selected by RoleForge and will be conducted in Travis County, Texas (or, if you and RoleForge agree, by video/phone). The arbitrator will have authority to award the same damages and relief that a court could award, subject to the limitations and waivers in these Terms.

Exceptions. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights or confidential information, or to enforce the security and access restrictions of these Terms.

If any portion of this Section is found to be unenforceable, the unenforceable portion will be severed and the remainder will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Disclaimer

The materials on RoleForge are provided on an 'as is' basis. RoleForge makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

15. Limitations

In no event shall RoleForge or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on RoleForge.

16. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service.

17. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. To the extent any dispute is permitted to be brought in court (including the exceptions in Section 13), you agree to exclusive venue in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
